Join us in our luxury, fully kitted-out bell tents on our secluded off grid campsite. With just five bell tents (each tent sleeping 6), you can enjoy unrestricted views of the river Thames or perhaps explore the adjacent woodland. If you book all 5 tents you have over 3 acres to stay in with exclusive use for your group.
We provide everything you need for a relaxing off grid camping experience, crockery, pots, pans, cutlery, gas & BBQ cooking, picnic benches, bed linen & blankets, phone charging & a fridge freezer! Hot shower, toilet & washing up area & even a campfire (wood available to buy or BYO) - Just bring yourself and your food - although with two fine restaurants within a short walk, you may not need the food! Tea, Coffee, Sugar are supplied.
In Sutton Courtenay in the heart of the Oxfordshire, 10 minutes drive from Britain's oldest market town of Abingdon, and only 25 minutes from the city of Oxford. Our well appointed campsite allows you to get away from it all, or use it as a base to reach an array of local attractions.
Our site is accessed via a private laneway though open fields, with cows grazing in summer. Car parking is in the glamping field, but not alongside your tent.
There is a small woodland area to explore and this site was used for the filming of Alice in Wonderland by the BBC as it was the only site along the length of the Thames which has no evidence of human habitation for miles.
Our regular wildlife visitors are (Ken & Deirdre) a pair of munt jack deer, and their cousins the roe deer followed closely by the rabbits and foxes.
Whilst the river is home to swans, ducks, geese, a kingfisher, a heron and even a cormorant. Overhead you will be able to hear and see the red kites.
Steve & Annemarie live onsite, and are super pleased to be able to share this gem of a location with people who want to experience the countryside and perhaps try some camping for the first time safe in the knowledge you'll have everything you need.
This is the access point, the campsite is on the river bank.
